I wonder this every time I walk past one of their branches....but what the hell is their logo suppose to be? The lines and dashes looks a little bit too strategically placed to just be a random design. Is it an abstraction? Is it a foot or a chair or.......wait....

....I'm just seeing this for the first time cause I blew it up. I think I was distracted by the negative space, but is that suppose to be the prow of a boat with the bottom of a sail and the three little dashes are oars? Maybe?
Yeah I have no idea. |

i see it as a bent leg, at the knee with motion lines to indicate "running" and on the left possibly the heel of the foot on the other leg? marathon?
i dunno
Yeah when I would glance at it my brain would try to make it into a knee or an elbow or something but it was just so awkward looking
Same here, I keep on seeing part of a foot but it doesn't completely resolve.

I think you're spot-on with the boat concept. Marathon bank is part of the Greek-owned banking company - "Piraeus Bank". Piraeus, Greece was the chief harbour of ancient Greece, so the boat motif makes sense.
