While cleaning my department this morning I found a note on a pile of books called 1001 Songs: The Great Songs of All Time and the Artists, Stories and Secrets Behind Them.
The note was written on the back of a magazine subscription order insert from VIBE magazine and said:DON'T BUY THIS BOOK This guy has no real idea about music. Look @ his Sam Cooke Selection & Ellington And LEFT out John Mayer.
HE MIGHT EVEN BE BRITISH!
I looked it up and the author is actually Australian. I don't know if that would make a difference to whoever wrote the note though.
oh well. |

Speaking as a Brit, I'm offended by that. Not overly surprised, but offended.
what offended you? The fact that he doesn't think British people know anything about music?, or the fact that he seems to see no difference between British and Australian people?
so all i could think of was Peter from Office Space saying.. "what am i supposed to do with 35 subscriptions to Vibe?"

I think the British should be flattered! I, personally, wouldn't want to be identified with anyone who thought a John Mayer song should be in ANY list of "Great Songs." | |
