Remember that Band meme that was going around? The one where you'd click on "Random Article" on Wikipedia and the name of the article that came up was the name of your band, the last four words from a random quote was the title of your album, and a random picture off Flickr was your album art?

Well...I never really stopped doing it. I found it way too entertaining. When I was bored I would click on the three sites and make little CD covers and leave them sprinkled around my desk top. I'm no graphic designer and my fonts and skills are rather lacking in most places, but I thought it was fun so I did it.

well I've apparently come up with a whole shit load of fake Bands. I wish some of them were real and I'm happy quite a number of them are fake.

I made a new journal and started posting them over there so I can visit whenever I want to. Go take a gander if you feel so inclined: [info]12kinkyfingers

and yeah, sometimes I cheat on the meme. When I'm going through Wikipedia articles if the one that comes up is something like "John Smith" I tend to just hit "random article" again until I get something that's not someone's first name, or something in another language. I also don't always take the 3rd picture from the Flickr page. Sometimes a different picture jumps out at me so I snag that one. That's just me, snubbing my nose in the face of the meme authority.

I'm crazy that way.

i dig this whole idea..
and it kinda enlightens me to the possibility that lots and lots of bands just kinda "throw something together" for album artwork.

Each one is amazing ... some really great band names in there, too.

I like "The Tides" a lot. It's very now.
