burnoutfuture and I were going to go to a gallery yesterday, but we got out of the house too late and we ended up not going. We were going to go again today but he's gone out to lunch with his dad and I'm going to stuff myself with Chipotle and maybe run up to Harlem for a bit so we'll probably not go today either. Oh well.
Yesterday instead of going to the gallery we jumped on the Q train and went to Union Square and wandered the 5 floors of ABC (which, I must say is downright awesome/amazing even if I could never afford to buy anything in there) and then walked over one street to Medler's and got sausages. I'm kinda surprised that there is a sausage shop across the square from where bigboychub use to work and he's never mentioned going there before or even knowing about it.
After Medler's we went to Barnes & Noble (Does it btoher anyone else when people refer to it as "Barnes&Nobles" instead of "Barnes&Noble"? I dunno why that makes me twitch) and we were there for about 2 hours. I got a $40 gift certificate for there for christmas and I was fixin' to spend it on somehting, but I couldn't find the books I wanted and nothing new really jumped out at me. Maybe I'll just spend it on my very own copies of "The Dark Tower" series or some "Thursday Next" books so I can force ivanushka & bigboychb to read them and we can make even more haughty literary jokes to each other.
that could be fun.
After that we walked around a bit, went to Whole Foods and a CD store in the east village, and eventually ended up at the Quad Cinema (aka: the "we're artsy and show mostly gay movies here" theater) for the 10:10pm showing of ShortBus which teaches us all that when asian women have orgasms....magic happens. Dino said he liked it which is good. Methinks I might have to buy the soundtrack at some point.
After the movie we came back to Dino's and watched a YouTube movie of a Pelican eating a pigeon and then went to bed. All in all I think it was a decently eventful day.
Now I'm going to put clothes on and buy some burritos. MMmMmMmMm Chipotle...how I love thee so... |

If I refer to it as Barnes & Noble's I always put the 's on the end in my head. Does that make me more or less lame?
well......it's a little lame.
*customer #3,698 writing check at register* "Who do I write this out to? 'Barnes and Nobles?'"
*Flashing through my mind is Imagery of lifting the register and bludgeoning customer to death with it (If you've seen High Fidelity, just imagine the A/C scene in the music store, it's mostly the same with a quick change of heavy appliances). But I remain calm, smile polightly and nod, stupid twat.*
I guess I shouldn't sweat the small stuff, but these people are in a book store for god's sake. READ.
Now I have the song Twin Cinema stuck in my head :C)
Though the chorus is now "They've shown this on 4 screens!!"
I haven't a clue what that is.
It's a song by The New Pornographers.
how do you think asian/pacific islander men do? ;-)
We should watch the movie again when Jon gets back.
And we're definitely buying the soundtrack. And the DVD!
i fucking LOVE Chipotle, even moreso than Moe's. luckily we have 2 in our business district here so they're daily obtainable nutrition if i so wish. | |
